A little bit about me as an educator....
I'm a qualified Teacher, having completed my PGCE training with Exeter & Greenwich Universites. I've been teaching since 2000 & I'm a registered Principal Tutor with the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA).
I've taught complementary therapies from beginner to post-graduate levels at many places all around the UK including: The Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine & Aromatherapy (ITHMA), Raworth International College of Natural Nutrition & Sports Therapies, Exeter Natural Health Centre, Vital Touch, The Sage Room & From the Seed. On a slightly different note, for several years I was also privileged to of had the wonderful opportunity to teach Diving, Sea Rescue & First Aid / Emergency First Response in Thailand, Indonesia & Mexico.
So where am I now....
I'm based in Cornwall & offer talks, workshops & accredited training courses on therapies, holistic health, stress management & relaxation whether that's 1:1, couples or larger group sizes.
I'm also part of the From the Seed teaching team & co-lecture with Jo Kellett TIDHA, CIMI, MIFPA (Tisserand Essential Oil Expert & Author). We provide IFPA & FHT accredited continuing professional development (CPD) massage & aromatherapy training courses in Brighton, Sussex, UK.

TALKS & WORKSHOPS
Are you: an individual, couple, interest group, club, networking group, friendship circle, PTA, school, charity, community project, festival, event, company, looking for great staff training / team bonding ideas or marking a special occasion (hen do, baby shower, birthday etc)....?
Are you interested in discovering more about complementary therapies, holistic health, stress management & relaxation?
I give talks & run workshops that offer informal, fun interactive ways to learn. Maybe you'd just like to know a bit more, try doing some bodywork, make an aromatherapy product or have some simple & helpful self-care techniques to use (like acupressure, breathing / meditation or chi gong etc). Whatever the reason, sessions are designed to be educational, fun & suit group needs. Handouts covering the content are included for you to take home.
Fees vary & are on an individual basis. Although I'm based in Cornwall I enjoy travel & am happy to do so.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COURSES
Below are details of our From the Seed continuing professional development (CPD) training courses.
New courses are being developed each year so please do watch this space & if there's a subject area you're interested in learning about that isn't currently on offer do let us know.
I also offer bespoke training & mentoring for professionals, whether that's on a 1:1 basis or for larger groups, no matter what the geographical location.
All our courses are International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) accredited & our Pregnancy course is also Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) accredited. To attend a previous aromatherapy diploma qualification is required or if you're currently in training to become an aromatherapist.
Our teaching team members are: Jo Kellett, Donna Robbins, Ellen Rowland, Ines Willis & Helen Nagle-Smith. All of us have many years experience as therapists / educators & a wealth of knowledge that we're very passionate about sharing!
All our practical courses are 'In Real Life Learning', whilst the popularity of online learning has taken off recently, we still firmly believe that you'll learn massage / bodywork techniques more effectively & that we teach better if we're physically all together in the classroom.
On all courses there'll be:

In person class sizes are usually limited to a maximum of 12. We feel this is important to ensure each student gets as much personal attention & support as possible.

A two-day CPD course to develop your understanding of & support clients living with cancer.
On this course you will learn about theoretical aspects of cancer, orthodox treatment & how to confidently enhance your aromatherapy & bodywork skill set to positively support clients throughout their journey no matter what stage their health is at.
Statistics suggest that perhaps as many as half of us will develop some form of cancer at some point in our life, that’s a lot of us!
Furthermore, even if we don’t it’s highly probable that all of us will be touched by cancer in one way or another.
Donna has worked in this field throughout her career supporting not only those with cancer, as well as many other forms of serious life altering illness, but also those directly affected by the diagnosis of their loved ones.
Whilst orthodox support by highly trained medical oncology professionals is very important, integrative approaches are becoming far more mainstream & complementary therapies may work alongside them to greatly assist general wellbeing & quality of life.

A meditative treatment based on the ancient wisdom of the Tibetan, Indian & Chinese medicine systems.
The course will help you confidently put into practice a deeply relaxing massage with essential oils; ideally suited for those clients that have trouble ‘switching off'.

This course will enhance your understanding of the widespread nature of trauma, different types of trauma and how it impacts our client’s health and well-being. We will consider how this knowledge can shape the services we offer and our interactions, allowing us to run a more trauma informed aromatherapy practice.

This course is designed as a supportive space to explore and break down marketing and learn how to make it work for you.
Rather than being an in depth technical, instructional course on how to use specific social media platforms, website management software or Google Analytics, this course aims to debunk some of the myths around marketing & communications & demystify the subject to help you create a solid foundation that works for you.
Each session will be recorded & will be available to attendees once the course is completed.
Also, Ellen is happy to do follow-up sessions individually for those who need more support.
