ESSENTIAL OILS & MASSAGE FOR THOSE LIVING WITH CANCER

Reiki

Presented by Donna Robbins

Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th November 2026 - 9am to 5.30pm

£270

IFPA accredited - 12 CPD points

A two day in person course to develop your understanding of & support those living with cancer.

Statistics suggest that perhaps as many as half of us will develop some form of cancer at some point in our life, that’s a lot of us!

Furthermore, even if we don’t it’s highly probable that all of us will be touched by cancer in one way or another.

I've worked in this field throughout my career supporting not only those with cancer, & many other forms of serious life altering illness, but also those directly affected by the diagnosis of their loved ones.

Whilst orthodox support by highly trained medical oncology professionals is very important, integrative approaches are becoming far more mainstream & complementary therapies may work alongside them to greatly assist general wellbeing & quality of life.

This course is designed to enhance your aromatherapy & bodywork skills so you may confidently support clients throughout their journey no matter what stage their health is at.

On this course you will learn:

  • What cancer is it & how it starts

  • Causes & risk factors

  • Misconceptions & myths

  • Signs & symptoms

  • Diagnosis

  • Metastasis

  • Types of cancer

  • Grading & staging

  • Allopathic treatment & side effects

  • Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) considerations

  • Aromatic considerations

  • Bodywork considerations & adaptations

  • Prone & supine bodywork through demonstrations & student pratical sessions

STRESS TO SAFETY WITH SOMATICS & AROMATICS

IMG_1293_edited.jpg

Presented by Donna Robbins & Jo Kellett

Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th June 2026 - 9am to 5.30pm

£270

IFPA accredited - 12 CPD points

A two day in person course that will enhance your understanding of stress & how it affects your clients.

In this modern, fast paced & at times very challenging world all of us are affected by stress. UK figures suggest 74% have felt overwhelmed in the past year, more than 50% experience trauma at some point in their lives & 1 in 10 of us develop PTSD or C-PTSD.

Stress, trauma and complementary therapy support are of particular professional interest to myself. A contributor to Helen Nagle-Smith’s recent book ‘Aroma, aromatherapy & trauma’, I have over 25 years experience supporting clients with complex case histories in private practice, via NHS referrals & charitable organisations.

The course explores holistic pulsing, a form of somatic bodywork, & aromatics for stress, anxiety & trauma; factors that significantly impact health, well being & coping mechanisms.

Sometimes called the “tai chi of massage”, pulsing has a gentle nurturing approach that utilizes continuous, rhythmic, wave-like rocking & shaking techniques. It aims to enhance connection between body & Mind, inner awareness of chronic patterns of holding, release of physical tension & emotional stresses stored at cellular level.

This somatic style of working with the body facilitates embodiment, deeper personal connection, safety, balance & well being. Whilst a standalone treatment in its own right, combing pulsing with the aromatic power of essential oils creates a deeply relaxing multisensory experience to further assist clients with integrative processing & moving beyond survival mode to a place of stillness & a more cohesive perception of the world.

Pulsing may be performed fully clothed or within a massage treatment. Students will have the opportunity to practice and experience both.

On this course you will learn:

  • About stress & trauma

  • How they affect the body

  • How our therapeutic skills can help

  • Creating an environment of professional connection & safety

  • Energetic awareness & self care for the practitioner

  • History, theory & benefits of holistic pulsing

  • Prone & supine bodywork through demonstrations & student pratical sessions

  • Exploration of six aromatics for stress & safety
